    • Counselors, case managers, and other professionals working with patients with substance use disorders

  • Description
    • Introduction Skills: The two-day Introduction training will provide an understanding of the foundational spirit and core skills of MI. Participants will engage in experiential exercises to begin building MI skills.
    • Booster: The one-day Booster session will provide previously trained staff the opportunity to deepen their understanding of the MI spirit, skills, and strategy, and to continue to practice and refine MI skills.
    • Advanced: The two-day Advanced session will focus on continued practice and refinement of MI skills (with an emphasis on strategy) and will prepare participants for ongoing skills practice demonstration and to receive related feedback and coaching.
  • Requirements
    • Participants must commit to all five days of training. Following the training series, participants will be required to submit audio recordings of MI skills demonstrations. These recordings will be coded for fidelity to the MI practice. Participants will receive feedback and coaching to assist with refining skills.

    • Cancellations must be made in writing and received five working days prior  to the training event. Substitute attendees are permitted.
