Who Should Attend
Practitioners new to the field of prevention and practitioners in related fields (Training is limited to 25 participants.)
The SAPST includes two parts: an online course (approximately 5 hours) titled Introduction to Substance Abuse Prevention: Understanding the Basics, followed by this four-day face-to-face training. This foundational course offers an introduction to the history of prevention, key concepts and definitions, specific drug effects, and an exciting glimpse into the effects of substance use and addiction on the brain. NOTE: There will be an online Center for the Application of Prevention Technologies (CAPT) registration process for the online course. Instructions will be provided following receipt of a DAODAS registration form.
Completion of an online course (approximately 5 hours) titled Introduction to Substance Abuse Prevention: Understanding the Basics. The online course will be available February 26 – March 6, 2019. Participants must e-mail a certificate of completion for the online course to Crystal Gordon at firstname.lastname@example.org, by March 7, 2019, to be admitted to the four-day face-to-face training.

31 hours (5 hours for the online course + 26 hours of face-to-face training) (Participants must fully complete the online course and the face-to-face training to receive credit. Partial credit will not be awarded.)
$150.00 (Lunch will be provided each day.)
March 1, 2019 (Registration fee must be paid by the first day of training. Checks will not be accepted onsite. To receive a refund, cancellations must be made in writing and received 10 working days prior to the event. Substitutions are not permitted.)
