Description

This training is required by DAODAS for all organizations receiving State Opioid Response (SOR) Grant funds.

TREM is a gender-based trauma model designed to address issues of sexual, physical, and emotional abuse in the lives of women who have been economically and socially marginalized and for whom traditional recovery work has been unavailable or ineffective. The model was developed by clinicians at Community Connections in Washington, D.C., with considerable input from consumers. TREM uses a psycho-educational focus and skill-building approach, emphasizes survivor empowerment and peer support, and teaches women techniques for self-soothing, boundary maintenance and current problem solving. TREM was studied in two major research projects and is an evidence-based practice.

To achieve the positive outcomes demonstrated in the research, TREM groups need to be conducted with fidelity to the model. This training prepares supervisors to evaluate and monitor the implementation of TREM. The training participants will learn the fidelity measures for TREM and how to evaluate whether the group is being conducted in accordance with these fidelity standards. The participants will be introduced to the TREM Fidelity Instrument and how to correctly score the instrument.
