DAODAS does not maintain an official list of recovery houses in South Carolina.  However, a partial list can be found at transitionalhousing.org/state/south_carolina.

The procedure for involuntary commitments can be found in the South Carolina Alcohol and Drug Abuse Commitment Statute, which is located in Chapter 52 of Title 44 of the South Carolina Code of Laws.  DAODAS does not administer the involuntary commitment procedure, but if you have a family member or friend that you believe requires immediate treatment for an alcohol or substance use disorder, you can contact their local Community Mental Health Center to initiate the involuntary commitment process.  A list of Community Mental Health Centers can be found on the S.C. Department of Mental Health’s website.
